We are extremely pleased to announce The McLaughlin Group, “The American Original” for over three decades, the sharpest minds, best sources, and hardest talk, returns on Sundays at 12:00 Noon on ABC7-WJLA beginning January 7. John McLaughlin mentee Tom Rogan will be taking over as moderator, joined by iconic panelists Eleanor Clift, Pat Buchanan and Clarence Page. Rogan, in his early 30’s, has been working in Washington DC as a respected political journalist and national TV commentator, and is not shy about expressing his opinions on major issues of the day. A weekly rotating guest panelist will also join the group.
This week’s guest is Adrienne Elrod.
Adrienne Elrod is a seasoned political strategist with over 20 years of experience in government, communications, and campaigns. She is the President of Elrod Strategies, a communications firm focusing on strategic communications and influencer engagement for corporate and non-profit clientele, as well as progressive organizations involved in the “resistance.”
Most recently serving as Hillary for America’s Director of Strategic Communications and Surrogates, Elrod oversaw the Clinton Campaign’s wide-ranging surrogate operations, deploying elected officials, civic leaders, celebrities, and other key influencers across the nation and on television, radio, and a range of digital platforms.
Previously, Elrod served as a Vice President and Communications Director for American Bridge and Correct the Record, a joint communications and research organization created to defend Hillary Clinton from false and misleading attacks. Prior to this, Elrod served as Chief of Staff to California Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, managing legislative and communications agendas for a senior member of the Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees.
Elrod held a variety of positions on Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, including Regional Press Secretary, Texas Communications Director, and Deputy Director of the Congressional Delegate Selection office.
A native of Arkansas, Elrod began her political career in President Clinton’s Administration, serving in both the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. She later returned to her home state to join the Arkansas Democratic Party as its Communications Director during an active cycle which saw the election of Senator Mark Pryor. After this success, she held a number of central roles in the offices and campaigns of Representatives Mike Ross (D-AR), Nick Lampson (D-TX), Ron Klein (D-FL), as well as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) under the leadership of then-Chairman Rahm Emanuel.
Elrod appears regularly as a political commentator and strategist on cable news outlets including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and as a panelist on Fox News Sunday. She received her B.A. in journalism from Texas Christian University.
