Trump should wake up to China's despicable attack on Australia

Doubling down on their pressure strategy against Australia, one of China's top diplomats has tweeted a fake news image of an Australian soldier beheading an Afghan child.

It's just the latest attack by Beijing on America's closest Indo-Pacific ally. Furious that Canberra has chosen to stand with the United States and the rule of international law in the Indo-Pacific, China is now waging a diplomatic and economic onslaught against Australia. As of this publication, the tweet remains pinned on Zhao Lijian's page.

China's top "wolf warrior" diplomat, Zhao, is a foreign ministry spokesman and a truly fanatical servant of his dystopian regime. In a pathetic example of its censorship double standards, however, Twitter seems to have no problem with this despicable Chinese Communist Party propaganda. Chinese Communists are using this image to exploit an ongoing scandal over the conduct of Australian special operations forces in Afghanistan. But while the concerns raised against some of those forces are serious, the vast majority have served honorably in Afghanistan, we shouldn't lose sight of the absurd hypocrisy in Zhao's tweet.

Has Bibi Boxed Biden in on Iran?

So, again, why would Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu authorize Mossad to send an assassination team to Iran to kill the nuclear scientist? And why now?

If Israel, as is universally believed and has not been denied, was behind the assassination of Iran’s leading nuclear scientist, questions arise:

Why would the Israelis kill him? And why would they do it now?

The scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, it is conceded, was a leader in Iran’s nuclear bomb program, but that program was disbanded in 2003.

The ‘Racist Rule’ That Georgia Dems Must Beat to Win Runoffs

Georgia's last liberal Democratic senator, who narrowly lost a runoff in 1992, explains why things may be different this time.

With all eyes on Georgia to decide control of the Senate, and with it, the potential for progressive legislation, there is one person who qualifies as an oracle. Or as he puts it, “I’m the poster boy for runoffs in Georgia and Republican chicanery.”

Former Senator Wyche Fowler, an Atlanta liberal, lost his seat in 1992 when he fell just shy of the 50 percent Georgia law requires to avoid a runoff. A relic of segregation, the runoff is designed to limit the power of the Black vote. “It was a racist rule,” Fowler told the Daily Beast.

Our democracy is fighting a bad case of ‘truth decay’

Surely I’m not the only American who is reminded by President Donald Trump’s refusal to concede of the loony scene with the Black Knight in “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” At least the movie was funny.

The Black Knight is memorable for refusing to let his inept swordsmanship get in the way of his claims of victory. Even as he loses limbs, thanks to special effects, in a pitifully one-sided sword fight, the knight refuses to surrender. “…Only a flesh wound!” he scoffs as he is hacked apart. “I’ve had worse! …I’m invincible! …Come back here! I’ll bite your legs off!”

No less relentlessly, Trump denounced “voter fraud” and “fake news media” among other villains, as his election night lead vanished and he filed fruitless lawsuits and recount requests. Read More
